The Telethon Kids Cancer Centre is committed to attracting and training the next generation of childhood cancer researchers. We welcome Honours, Masters, PhD, and Doctor of Medicine students wishing to take on a research project as part of your studies.

We are looking for the brightest minds to join our high-performing teams in the cancer fields of brain cancer, sarcoma, leukaemia, and immunotherapy. We provide a stimulating and supportive research environment and the opportunity to work alongside our internationally-respected childhood cancer research leaders on their world-class research projects.

Located within the new Perth Children's Hospital, you will have access to incredible facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and the ability to use cutting-edge technologies. Both the Cancer Centre and the Institute also provide mentoring and development opportunities, including regular seminars, student workshops, and social events.

Some of our projects available for 2024 include:

  • Understanding cancer in indigenous kids
  • Developing new immune based therapies for neuroblastoma
  • Local immunotherapies to fight sarcoma
  • Developing innovative treatments for paediatric brain cancers
  • Finding new cures for childhood leukaemia

Please refer to pages 18 and 87-90 of the Telethon Kids Institute 2024 Prospective Student Booklet for further details on the above projects. Alternatively, please contact us if you would like the opportunity to meet with our Team Leaders to discuss the projects in further detail.

Are you up for joining us in our fight against childhood cancer?
